Course Overview:

This course provides students with technical expertise necessary to effectively and efficiently design, engineer and program Spyder 7 and Optimizer Unitary projects. Class topics include controller specifications, IP and MSTP BACnet architecture, device addressing, online and offline engineering, master sync, synchronicity, application management, BACnet objects, object linking, proxy points, time schedules, Sylk devices, Modbus integration, VAV balancing, migrating from Spyder 5 and Classic Spyder, and firmware updates. Pre-requisite: HTTP--101 or HTTP-201 or N4 Certification

Pre-Requisites:

All students will need the following in order to be able to be successful in this course:

  • Students are recommended to have Niagara N4 Certification
  • Personal Laptop Computer
  • Physical Ethernet Port on Laptop
  • A USB to Ethernet adapter may be used.
  • Cat 5E or 6 Ethernet patch cable
  • PC Mouse
    • The built in touch pad does not meet this requirement.
  • Windows 10 or higher
  • Local Administrator Account with Administrator Privileges.
  • Domain Logon is not supported for class.
  • Ability to disable any VPN software such as Cisco VPN.
  • Ability to disable any Anti-Virus program.
  • Ability to modify and open ports with any Firewall Software.
  • Honeywell WEBS 4.11.xx with valid Honeywell WEBS N4 License
  • All the above software is to be installed and verified prior to class.
